After so much teasing and hinting, Epic Games finally added the Predator skin to Fortnite yesterday, making it the newest crossover character to appear in the popular battle royale. And even though it hasn't even been a whole day yet since the Predator's inclusion, the company has already begun teasing the next one.

A new audio clip by Jonesy, who has been acting as the Fortnite equivalent of Nick Fury and hopping between realities to recruit new characters, has been posted on Twitter and, while this is still only a theory, it very much suggests that the next franchise to appear in the game is Terminator.

Not only does Jonesy refer to his newest recruit as a woman, he mentions impending global doom, time travel, and paradoxes; all of which point to the new character being Sarah Connor, a recurring protagonist who has been a part of the franchise since the first Terminator movie.

The target description also mentions a protector of the future, which perfectly describes Sarah Connor. However, it also includes a ruthless machine, which implies that the Terminator itself will be included. That would make sense considering its the face of the whole franchise and would fit with the hunter theme the current season has, as the Terminator was originally sent back in time to hunt and kill Sarah Connor.

Sarah Connor is likely the character dataminers discovered recently. Though it wasn't named, the info available confirmed that the next skin would be a woman and a crossover character. If this is the case, though, it would mean that the theory that the skin is Lara Croft from Tomb Raider is wrong.

That said, Fortnite is already chockful of characters from other franchises to the point of being comparable to Ready Player One. The last season saw multiple Marvel heroes and villains added to the game (with more likely still to come in the future) and the current season has featured the Mandalorian, Kratos from God of War, and Master Chief from Halo.

And only a couple of days ago, Epic announced that it was partnering with more than 20 of the world's biggest soccer clubs to bring special soccer kit skins to the game, allowing players to rep their favorite teams. There's even a new option that lets fans play a game of soccer in Fortnite.

That hasn't stopped some fans from wanting more crossovers, though. One particularly popular choice is Samus from the Metroid series. Though she is certainly a perfect fit for the game at the moment, Nintendo is notorious for being incredibly protective of its characters and properties, which makes her chances less likely than others.

Fortnite is available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
