As many Fortnite Battle Royale fans will suggest, the wildly successful multiplayer sandbox survival title from Epic Games has introduced its fair share of weaponry ever since it went free-to-play roughly a year ago. Of course, the developer plans to forge on with its plans to expand the game's armory, as the studio has teased the inclusion of a suppressed assault rifle is on the way in a future update.

As seen in the image below, Epic Games has officially described the suppressed assault rifle as a "“silenced weapon that rewards precision aiming," with its design being reminiscent to the existing SCAR-style firearm already in Fortnite. Thankfully, fans shouldn't have to wait much longer for its inclusion in the hybrid construction shooter, as Epic ought to be rolling out the game's next update later this week.

Beyond the inclusion of the new suppressed assault rifle, Epic Games certainly lots more planned for the continual evolution of Fortnite Battle Royale, as the next update will tweak the gameplay as well. For instance, one of the more interesting alterations coming to the title are changes to how the Storm operates, as the new patch will deal out damage to player structures during the final phases of a match.

All things considered, it will be interesting to see how the Fortnite community responds to the suppressed assault rifle once it makes it into the title. Should its specs offer speedy draws and quick, stealthy kills, then it could become a new favorite in the battle royale game's meta.
