One of the biggest Fortnite Twitch streamers, Turner Tenney, known as Tfue online, has been accused of using "macros" to cheat in Fortnite.

Tfue is a big name in the Fortnite streaming world, with 8.4 million followers on Twitch. He's even been a participant in some of Fortnite's most prominent esports events, despite claiming that Fortnite isn't a competitive game or esport. His big personality and skills have made him as popular as he is, although now those skills are being called into question by Zayt.

Zayt, a pro gamer for the successful North American NRG team, sent out a (now deleted tweet) on June 8 that he was planning to expose macro-using pros. Specifically, Zayt was referring to double movement macros, which are binds that make moving with a keyboard and mouse comparable to moving with a controller, letting players look in different directions than they are moving. Macros are banned for pros, and Zayt claimed "Tfue is [using binds] and will never get banned because he’s the biggest streamer." He's also deleted that tweet since.

This isn't the first time Tfue has been accused of cheating. In April, someone accused Tfue of "smurfing" during the Cash Cups. If this had been true, it could've had huge real-world consequences as the Cash Cups pay real money. However, that accusation wasn't proven and this one hasn't been either. Zayt claimed he has evidence that Tfue is using macros, but no evidence has come forward yet.

Tfue is massively popular, but he's also massively controversial. Last year, he sued the FaZe Clan for what he claimed was an illegal and restrictive contract. He also claimed that FaZe took too much of his sponsorship revenues, and FaZe responded by opening its own lawsuit against Tfue. He's also used racial slurs onstream multiple times. While none of these prove that Tfue is cheating, it does raise some questions about whether the streamer is using negative drama and press to get even more popular.

Tfue hasn't yet responded to Zayt's claims, but is focusing his social media attention on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare season 4. And since Zayt took the tweets down, the cheating accusation might be just that: an accusation. Neither gamer is pressing the issue further at the moment, so whether Tfue is cheating or not is still unknown.

Fortnite is out now for most platforms.
