Without a doubt, players have seen Fortnite steadily progress from the release of its free-to-play Battle Royale portion last year into a worldwide sensation, with Epic Games continually bringing new content into the multiplayer sandbox survival shooter. Now, the publisher and developer has decided to bring a new item into the title, by teasing the forthcoming inclusion of what are being called Stink Bombs.

As seen in the image below, Epic Games officially teased the incorporation of Stink Bombs into Fortnite with the use of the hybrid construction shooter's in-game news feed, preparing players for another week of surprises. According to the item's description, Stink Bombs are set to work as a weapon of sorts, as it will explode into a cloud upon impact, and much like those who get trapped in the Storm, will be damaged while in its area of effect.

As of late, Epic Games has not only been keeping Fortnite players stocked with new in-game items such as Stink Bombs, but also the studio recently added the title's first technical mode of transportation with an update bringing rideable Shopping Carts into the map. These working in conjunction with Stink Bombs will surely allow many skilled players to disperse a litany of poison clouds quickly and with ease.

Taking everything into consideration, it will be interesting to see if Fortnite's popularity continues on an upward trajectory, for it seems as if Epic Games is prepared to support the free-to-play Battle Royale portion of the title well into the foreseeable future. The video game development studio surely has plenty more ideas for items, modes, skins, cosmetics, and more as the title continues to expand its reach around the globe.

Fortnite is available now in early access for Nintendo Switch, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
