Guns and items are always coming and going in Epic Games' battle royale title Fortnite, with the latest soon-to-be new item known as the Port-a-Fortress, a presumably better version of the Port-a-Fort. Still, this constant introduction and removal doesn't prevent others from chipping in their ideas, and a dedicated battle royale fan recently suggested an item known as a Stim-Gun.

This concept was developed by Reddit user, jmzofficial, and essentially offers another way of healing in Fortnite. While the game already has healing items such as bandages and medkits, there's no real way to heal a squadmate other than reviving them once they are down. The addition of such an item would indubitably help those players who lag behind in squads.

According to Jmzofficial, this item would allow players to shoot and heal an ally, though if they were to accidentally shoot an enemy, it would also heal them. Of course, how much it healed for would likely depend on the type and amount of healing, but it could probably have around 5 shots without being OP. For example, it could instantly heal 10-15 health, or over time, heal 20-25, depending on what Epic thought was best.

Either way, it could potentially work in a manner similar to the grappling gun, which is destroyed after so many uses. More than that, however, it would add a level of cooperation that has been lacking before, as most players have probably seen a squadmate walk right by when they were on the verge of death or dying. It would also add ranged healing, instead of the simple self-healing, that the game has previously lacked.

Of course, this is only a concept, and it remains up to Epic to decide if it ever adds a ranged healing option. Although, it is worth mentioning that Epic has listened to its fanbase and responded in kind before, so it all really depends on the company. Nevertheless, with or most likely without the stim-gun, season 5 is dwindling down, and Fortnite is busy preparing another season.

Fortnite is available in early access on Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
