Many players might wonder what the spookiest skins for Fortnite’s Halloween event are, and what can they wear to join in on the terrifying party that awaits. There are plenty of Halloween-based skins, and some just being downright spooky.

10 Hollowhead

Halloween is always perfectly encapsulated in a pumpkin. It’s a staple of October, and certainly a look into the spooks that await Halloween. With the Hollowhead skin, players will take on a rather spooky appearance of a pumpkin head with a glowing mouth and eyes, begging the question of what lurks beneath the hollowed-out pumpkin head.

Hollowhead is a rather cool-looking skin that fits perfectly in line with the spooky vibe. He even has a cape, which makes him seem rather regal in the pumpkin kingdom. Hollowhead can appear in the item shop for 1,500 V-Bucks.

9 Hay Man

If players have 1,500 V-Bucks, they will be able to purchase the spooky-looking Hay Man from the item shop. This outfit is as creepy as Halloween gets, as scarecrows seem infamous when it comes to the Halloween season. The Fortnite island will have to watch out for many horrors, and the Hay Man is just the latest.

The skin itself is rather creepy, thanks to the ominous and glowing orange eyes, that seem to gaze into opponents’ souls. What makes the skin extra creepy is the knitted smile on the face, which stretches into an unruly grin.

8 Mincemeat

It’s hard to visualize smell, but Mincemeat leaves nothing to the imagination in that department. This skin, purchasable with 1,500 V-Bucks, is truly spooky. It’s a humanoid meat pie, with appropriately scaled arms and legs, with flies buzzing around it for the meat that is creeping out of the cooked pie crust. Truly a disturbing visual perfect for Halloween.

There are many questions to ask about Mincemeat, the most important is how is a meat pie alive and cranking 180s? Yet, the more disturbing question is what meat is this character made of? It’s a spooky one to be sure. It’s best to avoid a fight with Mincemeat, just in case.

7 Big Mouth

Another spooky skin arrives on the Fortnite island with Big Mouth. This outfit seems to truly be a big mouth, with a jaw like no other. Big Mouth’s entire face is one giant mouth, with disturbingly sharp teeth, and a disgustingly long tongue. There are even frogs wrapped around the skin, mostly for a midnight snack.

Big Mouth comes in two styles, the default and the poisonous, which makes it more than worth the price of 1,500 V-Bucks. It has a completely spooky vibe to it, even if the head may be rather distracting against other skins, considering its size.

6 Frankenstein’s Monster

Universal’s Monsterverse might be dead in the waters, but that doesn’t stop the resurrection of life. Doctor Frankenstein’s dreaded monster arrives at Fortnite island as part of the Universal Monster Set, a collaboration between Fortnite and Universal. Frankenstein’s Monster has the outfit one would expect. Green skin, rectangular head, with a bolt through the neck.

For the low price of 1,200 V-Bucks, one of the very first gothic monsters could be in the hands of the player. It’s spooky skin and a great homage to the classic monsters of old literature as well as cinema.

5 Nitehare

Rabbits are fluffy and adorable, so what happens on Halloween? They get spooky. With the Nitehare skin, players will be running the other way out of fear when they lay eyes on this soulless bunny. Not only is it creepy to see a rabbit with arms and legs, but those void white eyes and stitched-up scalp make for a truly spooky appearance.

The price of this skin comes at a moderate 1,500 V-Bucks, the average amount for an Epic rarity Fortnite skin. The skin itself has lots of details, like sharp nails, and a black stitched straitjacket with chalk tally marks across the belt. It begs the question of what Nitehare is tallying.

4 Teef

Fortnite continues its wild streak of spooky Halloween costumes, and Teef continues the trend of the spookiest lot. This costume looks like a blob of pink paint splatters through a neck hole. The only problem is that this pink blob with just a mouth has far too many gross teeth to count, a truly spooky addition to Halloween.

What’s most peculiar about this 1,500 V-Bucks skin, is the fact that Teef is wearing a white and black jumpsuit, as if he has just escaped from a prison somewhere. What also makes the skin most uncomfortable is the backbling, which looks like a giant pink blob with teeth, growing out of its back.

3 The Mummy

With a low price of 1,200 V-Bucks, Universal’s The Mummy can be in the hands of the players. This skin features an abundance of bandages, but not the kind that can be used to regain health to up to 75% in the game. These bandages are old and encase the skin of the resurrected Mummy who seeks nothing more than victory royales, a strange change of pace from living in a tomb for thousands of years.

This skin is spooky for its homage to the Universal Monsters era of cinema. The face remains on display, meaning that players cannot hide the ugly and undead skin from a bandage. The skin can also have a vintage filter, which makes it grainy and black and white as if being played from an old film reel.

2 Peely Bone

The unnamed and loved mascot of Fortnite seems to be Peely. This lovable and expressive banana has been the face of many Fortnite seasons, as well as a savior in some major events. He’s a beloved character, just don’t turn him into a smoothie and he will remain a great friend. However, Peely recognizes a spooky season when he sees one, and so Peely Bone is born.

Peely Bone can be seen as rather grotesque, considering half of Peely’s skin is missing to show his bone structure underneath. Players will be running around the island as half a normal Peely and half a skeletal structure, with an emote where Peely plays on his ribcage like a xylophone, all for 1,500 V-Bucks.

1 Skull Trooper

Five years ago, in Fortnite’s very first season, the game released Skull Trooper. This skin cost 1,500 V-Bucks and was one of the first skins that pushed for a different visual style in those early seasons. Skull Trooper was regarded as an “OG” skin, one of the rarest in the game. Until Fortnite re-released him in the item shop.

Fans that purchased Skull Trooper before his rerelease was given the Purple Glow style. The skin is still highly regarded as one of Fortnite’s best and has a long-standing history with players. The Skull Trooper outfit is spooky, as it’s Jonesy ready for the Halloween season ahead.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices.
