Season 5 recently began in Fortnite, which brought with it a slew of things for players to unlock, regardless of whether they have the Battle Pass or not. Now, a new content update released today will add more to the game, including some new weapons for both Battle Royale and Save The World modes.

Epic detailed the Fortnite content update on their website. Two new weapons are being added to the game, while one will be put in the Vault. The Tactical Submachine Gun (SMG) from the Battle Royale is the weapon being put into the Vault, with a new SMG taking its place. Save The World will be getting the Typewriter Assault Rifle, which will be added to the Weekly Store on July 18th.

The new SMG will come in the common, uncommon, and rare varieties, with 19-21 being its base damage values and having a magazine capacity of 30 rounds. It can be found both as loot laying around, as well as in chests. It will still use the light ammunition type.

The Typewriter Assault Rifle for Save The World is nearly identical to the Drum Gun that's available in Battle Royale. That gun, of course, looks like an old-school Tommy Gun with a large drum magazine. This means the Typewriter will have the same qualities of the Drum Gun, as well, which includes large magazine capacity and a high rate of fire. This will make it great for dealing with large groups of enemies.

Along with these weapons, another slight change will be made to the game with the update, as well. The Semi Automatic Sniper Rifle in Battle Royale will see a bit of a buff with its damage going up to 75/78 from 63/66. Epic also announced that the Save The World mode will be on sale through July 30th. Those looking to get into the campaign will be able to do so at a discount of 50% off, meaning the Standard Founder's Pack is $20, with the Deluxe being $30. Fortnite is now available on iOS, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
