Apple and Epic Games are currently in the midst of an intense legal battle that will determine the future of video games on platforms like iOS mobile devices. The proceedings have had a benefit of revealing some insider information on Fortnite, including some of the skins and crossover events that are apparently in the works for the mega-popular battle royale game.

According to the Apple and Epic Games court documents, Fortnite has quite a few crossovers in the pipeline. As reported by FortniteInsider, the documents touched on some skins that have already been added to Fortnite like the God of War Kratos skin for instance, but it also revealed skins and crossovers that haven't been added to the game. According to the documents, Fortnite could very well have skins based on John McClane from Die Hard, Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games, Naruto, Samus from Metroid, and The Bride from Kill Bill.

Beyond those skins, it seems that there was once an Ariana Grande collaboration in the works for Fortnite, with a skin based on the popstar originally scheduled to release in the game in October 2020, though that never came to pass for unclear reasons. The same goes for a Lady Gaga skin that was supposed to release in December, but never did for reasons that haven't been revealed at the time of this writing.

Fortnite skin based on Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is another one that was potentially delayed, as it was reportedly supposed to be released in Q1 of this year. There's been a lot of speculation that The Foundation character in Fortnite is meant to be represented by The Rock, and The Rock himself hinted that a Fortnite crossover or collaboration of some kind could very well be in the works, so this isn't all that surprising of a revelation.

And finally, the court documents suggest that Fortnite could be crossing over with the NBA, with that crossover including a LeBron James skin. The Fortnite NBA crossover may go beyond just cosmetic content, though, as the court documents have also revealed a new Basketball mode of some kind.

It's entirely possible that Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, The Rock, and NBA skins are all still coming to Fortnite, but were simply pushed back for whatever reason. Alternatively, Epic Games may have scrapped its plans to incorporate any of this content in Fortnite. Until official announcements are made, the only thing Fortnite fans can do is speculate.

Fortnite is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
