For a free game mode, Fortnite Battle Royale has been a massive success for Epic Games, not only due to a record number of players playing the mode but it has also managed to capture the mainstream media’s attention as well. Outside of the addictive third-person shooter gameplay and tower building elements, part of the reason why Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode has been so successful is the constant rotation of new cosmetic items to the in-game shop. Seasonal items and character skins remain pretty popular with players and thanks to a recent datamine, it appears new Easter-themed content is right around the corner.

The potential Fortnite leak comes from TwoEpicBuddies, who jumped on Twitter to reveal new content that was found within game files. The biggest reveal is Easter-themed cosmetics from bunny suit skins called the Rabbit Raider and pickaxes, to a literal Easter egg. The screenshot also shows new back blings, backpack items which were introduced in Season 3, as well as new astronaut themed gear, gliders, and a character skin which looks like it could fit within the Diablo or Warcraft franchise.

The possibility of new holiday skins and items shouldn’t be a big surprise for players as Epic typically makes sure to add new festive items. In 2018 alone, Fortnite has seen cosmetics based on the Chinese New Year, Valentine’s Day, and St. Patrick’s Day. Last year, a lengthy Christmas event brought new quests and gear for players to collect within the game’s PvE mode called Save the World. These items also then trickle into the massively popular Battle Royale item shop as well.

In addition to cosmetics, Epic also keeps Fortnite updated fairly regularly. Update 3.4 introduced a number of changes to both sides of the experience adding in a new questline for PvE players as well as removing stamina depletion while running. Battle Royale finally received the guided missile weapon and even reclassified shotguns which downgrades the rarity level for tactical shotguns by one while also upgrading pump shotguns by one level. Sniper Shootout v2 has also been added as the new special event mode and sees crossbows and hunting rifles added to the weapon mix.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and iOS.
