With Halloween fast approaching, Epic Games has decided to get its free-to-play multiplayer sandbox survival shooter Fortnite Battle Royale in the holiday spirit with a bunch of new additions to the game via its Fortnitemares 2018 event. As it so happens, the developer has decided to use the game's latest update to bring a new weapon into the mix by adding the Six Shooter revolver for players to wield.

According to Update 6.20's patch notes, Fortnite Battle Royale's new Six Shooter can be found in Uncommon, Rare, and Epic variants, with the weapon dealing out 34 / 36 / 38 in base damage, respectively. It uses Medium Ammo, and can be found from floor loot, chests, as well as Vending Machines. Those who want a faster rate of fire would do well to shoot from the hip with the handgun, but as expected, aiming down the sight offers much more precision.

In addition to the new Six Shooter, Fortnite has also added another weapon to the title's free-to-play Battle Royale portion, with Epic having included the Fiend Hunter Crossbow in the hybrid construction shooter's latest update, too. That said, though, it appears as if the Fiend Hunter Crossbow won't be a part of the main game, as it's only available as a limited time weapon to be used within the title's Fortnitemares mode.

Taking all of this into account, Epic's addition of the Six Shooter should please most, if not all fans who were hoping for the developer to bring back the revolver in some shape or form, as its original incarnation was Vaulted a while back. Of course, it's safe to presume that Epic might decide that the handgun could use some tweaks to its attributes after some time of seeing it used in the field, so we will have to wait and see if the firearm gets a buff or a nerf in the coming days.

Fortnite is available now in early access for Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
