After a short delay, the Season 5 Week 9 challenges are now live in Fortnite, giving players the opportunity to make some serious progress on their battle pass. Most of this week's challenges are fairly straightforward, but there are a few that may give players some trouble, like following the treasure map found in Shifty Shafts to find a hidden battle star.

This challenge is especially difficult if Fortnite players decide to actually go to Shifty Shafts and look for the treasure map. Alternatively, we recommend just heading right to where the battle star spawns, which is on the mountain north of Salty Springs and southwest of Dusty Divot. The part of the mountain closest to Salty Springs is specifically where players want to land, but be warned that this is definitely a high-traffic area at the time of this writing.

Here is exactly where Fortnite players will want to go to follow the Shifty Shafts treasure map and find the hidden battle star:

For anyone that prefers a video guide, we recommend this one put together by YouTuber OmniPie:

After players manage to find this hidden battle star, they will still have many more Season 5 Week 9 challenges to complete. Besides following the Shifty Shafts treasure map, Fortnite players are also asked to deal damage to opponents using explosive weapons, get trick points in the Shopping Cart or ATK, search chests in various areas, find all the Stone Heads, get Assault Rifle Eliminations, and eliminate opponents in Tomato Temple.

By following guides, some of those Season 5 Week 9 challenges will be made much easier, like the one for visiting different Stone Heads, for instance. However, some of the challenges will rely more on the player's skill level, like getting eliminations in Tomato Temple.

Regardless, Fortnite players with enough patience and perseverance should be able to complete all of the Season 5 Week 9 challenges in due time.

Fortnite is out now in early access for iOS, Android, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
