One of Fortnite's Season 6 Week 4 challenges instructs players to set structures on fire, and fans that take on this task will receive some XP for their efforts. Some players may not be clear on exactly how to set fires in Fortnite, though, and they may be stuck on this challenge as a result. Fortunately, there are a couple of easy ways to go about addressing this task, and fans will find full details in what follows.

Before getting into how to complete this new Fortnite challenge, it is important to note that some players are currently encountering a bug that prevents proper progress tracking. This issue has been acknowledged by Epic Games, via the Fortnite Status Twitter account, and it is currently under investigation. It is further stated that an update will be provided when more information is available, and fans that are having trouble with the challenge may thus want to keep an eye on that account.

With that established, perhaps the easiest way to set structures on fire is to toss some fireflies at them. For the uninitiated, Fortnite's fireflies can be found in abundance in Weeping Woods, and players should approach the flying insects and interact with them in order to obtain a firefly jar. This object can then be thrown like a grenade at any wooden structure to set it ablaze and complete the relevant Season 6 Week 4 challenge.

Alternatively, players can use a Flame Bow for this task, and indeed it is possible to craft one. More specifically, fans can create a Primal Flame Bow in Fortnite by combining a Primal Bow with a firefly jar or a gas canister, and firing it at a structure should get the job done. While this is undoubtedly more complicated than simply using fireflies for the challenge, it is an option that players should be aware of in case they happen to end up with a Flame Bow.

One final thing to mention is that setting a structure on fire by blowing up a gas canister or gas pump does not appear to count toward the completion of this challenge. Players that were planning to tackle the task by visiting a gas station in Fortnite may thus need to make new plans. That said, it is certainly not difficult to use one of the two methods outlined above, and fans that do not encounter the aforementioned bug should find completing this challenge to be a breeze.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
