The Battle Royale genre continues to be saturated with potential options for players with newcomers like Hyper Scape attempting to muscle in on territory owned by established titles Fortnite, PUBG, Apex Legends, and even Call of Duty: Warzone. One way to not only capture fan attention but to retain them is to constantly keep the mode feeling fresh through changes and updates. Fortnite has seemingly mastered this element, continuing to evolve the game with new content, map changes, and even secret updates that fans are left to discover on their own.

Season 4 quickly gained attention from fans due to the Nexus War crossover event with Marvel, bringing iconic characters like Wolverine, Thor, and others to the game for the first time. However, the massive Fortnite update also featured a number of other quality of life changes that flew far under the radar, and at least one of them seems to have been left off the patch notes entirely.

Players have begun to see some interesting changes to Reboot Vans and reports have started to appear online. Following the season 4 update, the van cool down time appears to have been cut in half taking only 60 seconds instead of previously starting at 120 seconds before players could use the vans to bring back another teammate.

In addition to the reduced timer, players have also noticed that the vans are now completely silent when reviving a teammate. Previously, the act of reviving a teammate would cause the vehicle to generate a lot of noise, adding an element of risk and reward to the gameplay. While the benefit of getting an ally back is huge, the loud noises gave off an element of danger by alerting enemies to the player's location. For such a big change, players are a bit skeptical of this being an actual bug rather than an intended feature change.

Finally, Fortnite players have also noticed that two Reboot Vans have been completely removed from the map. Last seen at The Authority and The Fortilla, players have been scouring these locations only to come up empty handed. The unannounced changes now leave the very center and south-east areas without a way to revive players, so teams should be wary when venturing into these zones.

Originally added last year, many viewed their addition as a simple copy of Apex Legends, which allows players to collect a teammates banner and respawn them back at various stations located around the map. However, since their inclusion, fans have seemingly warmed up to them, making them a vital part of a typical match. In fact, these unannounced changes are technically the first time the Reboot Vans have received any sort of update since their original appearance.

Fortnite is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
