Fortnite has been treating players with live events of late and recently launched a secret concert with Diplo and Jordan Fisher in the new Party Royale mode.  The secret concert was missed by many, but this event may well draw more attention to the new game mode in the free-to-play title. Some players had thought that the peaceful game mode that disables weapons and building and encourages socializing would focus on events and early signs indicate that this is the case.

The originally battle royale focused game, Fortnite, has managed to separate itself from its competition with its unique building mechanics, challenges, and events that have resulted in a great deal of success. While this event did not break the concurrent player record like the recent Travis Scott event, those who missed the concert may now consider visiting the Party Royale side of the game more frequently to see future content.

The secret concert was announced just 30 minutes before it began and as a result, some fans missed the show. Fortunately, some players, such as Formz Tyson, have recorded what happened during the 20-minute concert and although it may not have been the biggest event it was likely intended to begin laying a foundation for future concerts that will be advertised more aggressively. It will be interesting to see if this concert has more appearances like Travis Scott's multiple date Astronomical tour, and if so if they will continue to be secret shows. Despite Fortnite being criticized in recent weeks, it seems that there is plenty of content being provided in the game and even more to come in the future.

There are already plenty of fans with ideas of who should perform a Fortnite concert, and many will hope that their favorite artist is featured in the game. The events of the last couple of weeks will certainly take some beating, and they have made a positive impression on fans who have been frustrated with the current state of the game. Many players have called for a return to the old mechanics of the game which had less of a focus on challenges and while these events are pleasing players, the developer, Epic Games, may need to do more to retain its large player base.

Many will wonder whether Fortnite will focus on pleasing their current fan base or try to attract more players. Most players will hope to have a balance of enjoyable mechanics and more fantastic events with big artists like Diplo and Jordan Fisher.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and iOS and Android devices.
