Thanks to a community-led vote from Fortnite players, the Shockwave Launcher is back in the game. The Legendary weapon allows players the chance to rocket themselves across the map to get away from a sticky situation or just to travel away from the impending Storm. Luckily, the Shockwave Launcher does not cause any fall damage, but players can still use it on enemies to maybe launch them into the Storm or get distance from them. Either way, it's a handy weapon to have during a battle royale match, but it's not that easy to find.

Like other types of Rare and Legendary weapons in Fortnite, actually finding them is more up to chance than anything. Even though players can find powerful weaponry in supply boxes, chests, and Cosmic chests, players never know what kind of loot will pop out. And that's pretty much the same case with the Shockwave Launcher in Fortnite Season 8.

Shockwave Launcher Locations in Fortnite Season 8

As mentioned previously, there's no exact location that players can visit to find a Shockwave Launcher. The Legendary weapon can only be found in chests, Cosmic chests, and supply box drops. It'll be good for players to visit any location on the map that's typically filled with lots of chests and floor loot, such as Pleasant Park or Lazy Lake. Make sure to also keep an eye out for Cosmic chests on the map and incoming drops from the sky.

When players finally get their hands on the launcher, they can use it on themselves to fling their character across the map or use it on an enemy to get them out of the way. The gun will have a limited amount of ammo to start with, so make sure to use it wisely.

New to Fortnite Season 8, players can collect paint bottles to unlock new styles for the Disney-inspired Toona Fish skin. Using the Shockwave Launcher can help players visit the different locations to collect the bottles, such as Shanty Town and Mount F8. The named landmarks have a few bottles each, and they will show up on the map once players enter the location, making it easy to collect them all.

Fortnite is currently available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
