Fortnite players were met with some new challenges this week, which include visiting a stone pig, metal llama, and a wooden rabbit, searching where the knife points on the treasure map loading screen, and visiting the 5 highest point of elevations. After all that and more, players will be able to collect a secret banner for their locker, but Epic Games has bamboozled its players this week.

Typically, the secret rewards are easy enough to track down by looking for the symbol on the loading screen. However, Fortnite's week 5 secret battle star was much darker than normal, and this week the banner does not even appear in the loading screen in the traditional sense. As seen above, this time around players have to look closely at the key. At the end, there is a symbol of a banner, but this does not indicate a location.

On the other end of the key, there is a series of numbers that sets up a a set of coordinates. These numbers are E2, E3, F2, and F3, so the likeliest Fortnite location is where these coordinates meet. That said, this area is seemingly in the middle of nowhere, which is somewhat unusual for a secret reward location (many may remember diving into the volcano earlier this season).

Landing at these coordinates will place players just northwest of Lazy Lagoon, in a clearing where the secret banner will appear on a nearby tree. It stands alone, so be sure to not head into the nearby woods. While this may seem like a strange location, it is also the first secret reward this season to appear outside the vicinity of the volcano, so perhaps this means the rest of the Fortnite secret battle stars and banners will be spread out as well.

With Fortnite season 8 nearing its end, it also seems likely many players will want to grab this secret banner and also start grabbing any other secret rewards they've stocked up. For those needing to do that, we've put together this guide on how to find every Fortnite season 8 secret battle star and banner.

Fortnite is out now for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
