A new week in Fortnite means a new set of challenges, and a new set of challenges means a new secret reward. Per the alternating battle star and banner pattern established back in season 6, players will be able to find a secret battle star for completing the season 8 week 5 challenges, which include eliminating opponents at Fortnite's Pirate Camps, bouncing a ball 15 times, dealing damage with scoped weapons, and more.

Once all of the challenges are complete, players will get the loading screen and be able to find the hint for the Fortnite season 8 week 5 secret battle star location. As seen above, the hint is hardly defined, but it is located near one of the lava falls, a new environmental hazard in season 8 that likely inspired the Fortnite's Floor is Lava LTM.

This means that the Fortnite secret battle star of the week is hidden near one of the lava falls in the area. The best bet is to drop there after jumping from the battle bus and head to the lava pool just south of the Volcano. Players will also want to remember that lava deals environmental damage, so be careful in this dangerous area.

Once there, Fortnite players will want to proceed to the lowest lava fall, which is also on the left-hand side. The secret battle star will appear on the right side of it, so if approaching from the left or from the south, it may require players to quickly jump across the lava. Now that the midway point of Fortnite season 8 has been reached, many players will want to start wrapping up these challenges and secret rewards if they haven't done so already. For that reason, we've also put together a guide on where to find all of Fortnite's season 8 hidden battle stars and banners. So, as the season begins to boil down, season 9 is on the horizon.

Fortnite is out now for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
