With Fortnite season 8 well underway, players are tasked with a new series of challenges every week in a drastically changed landscape. The advent of season 8 saw the emergence of the volcano and two new named locations, Sunny Steps and Lazy Lagoon. These additions have made finding the weekly hidden battle stars and banners, especially in these areas, slightly harder.

Building off the alternating pattern established back in season 6, Fortnite players are tasked with finding a hidden battle star every odd week (1,3,5,7,9) and a hidden banner every even week (2,4,6,8,10). The former provides Fortnite players with a free tier on their Battle Pass, and the latter adds a new cosmetic to the player's locker. Here's where and how to find every one currently available in Fortnite.

Week 1 – Battle Star

As seen above, the first battle star of Fortnite season 8 requires players to get on top of the tall tower near the pirate ship in Lazy Lagoon. Players will easily notice the tower from drop or approach, but for those who cannot make it from drop, there is a volcanic vent nearby that will save on those precious mats.

Week 2 – Banner

The second one will be easiest from drop. Players will need to dive into the volcano, using the momentum of the drop to fight through the hot air pushing back, and land near the Fire King's throne. The banner will appear to the left of the throne, near the Dragon Eggs. It's worth mentioning they were first discovered last season, but Epic Games hasn't done anything with them as of yet.

Week 3 – Battle Star

The second battle star of the season can be a bit harder to identify. Players will find it to the right of the Volcano in a small temple somewhat similar to Sunny Steps (of which this battle star is due south). Walking to the edge will reveal the hidden battle star, earning players yet another Battle Pass tier.

Week 4 – Banner

As with previous hidden items, this week's hidden banner can be found on the Volcano, but this time on the backside – near Sunny Steps – of it. Players will want to drop on the volcano and visit one of the obelisks near the throat of the volcano. If struggling to find the correct obelisk, Fortnite players can follow the path down from the top until the banner appears on one of the Obelisks, which would be sooner rather than later.

Week 5 – Battle Star

Like previous weeks, players will be returning to the volcano for this secret battle star. From drop, head to the lava pool just south of the Volcano. Fortnite players will need to approach the lowest lava fall on the lefthand side, where the secret battle star will appear on the right side of it.

Week 6 - Banner

This week, players diverge from the volcano and also the standard way of finding the location. Instead of simply seeing the banner on the week 6 loading screen, players have to decode the coordinates hidden on the key. This will lead players to an intersection, where players will find the banner on a tree just northwest of Lazy Lagoon.

Week 7 – Battle Star

The week 7 secret battle star will see Fortnite players return to a season 8 week 6 location, the Wooden Rabbit. To find this battle star, simply land on the arch of the rabbit's back, and it will appear.

Week 8 - Banner

A clue depicting coordinates has returned, with this set leading players to a spot just north of Polar Peak. After completing all season 8 week 8 challenges, players will find this Fortnite season 8 week 8 hidden banner on the snowy ice-glacier in the middle of a frozen lake. It's also worth mentioning that completing everything to this point should unlock the new Discovery skin, Ruin.

Week 9 - Battle Star

Once again, the hint is hidden really well in the Fortnite season 8 week 9 loading screen, but once every challenge has been finished, players will just want to drop on the ship at the Viking Village in the winter biome, just east of Snobby Shores.

Week 10 - Banner

After completing the Fortnite season 8 week 10 challenges, there will be one last hidden banner to claim. Finding it requires players to drop on Loot Lake, find a nearby truck, and build a ramp up a nearby rock formation to claim this secret reward.

As more weeks pass and more battle stars and banners release, we will update this article accordingly. Making sure these are complete will help players get their tier 100 Luxe Skin as well as add a few new cosmetics, so each are worth pursuing. Until then, Ranters, good luck on the Fortnite battle island.
