Beginning December 19, Fortnite developer Epic Games is bringing back some popular limited-time modes (LTMs) as part of its winter event. Fans may want to take note that this v7.10 update was also supposed to include the Driftboard, but shortly after that was revealed, Epic Games decided to delay the single-user vehicle. That said, the v7.10 update still managed to come out of the gate swinging.

The big news out of the patch notes is the forthcoming LTMs as part of the 14 Days of Fortnite event. Not only are popular LTMs making a comeback, but the event will also feature some new LTMs. Of course, Epic Games stopped short of revealing exactly what LTMs would be in the rotation, but the developer did kindly share how this rotation would work exactly.

Essentially, large team-based LTMs will switch every two days, which likely includes 50v50 or maybe even 5 teams of 20 events. Smaller LTMs, likely focusing on solos, duos, or squads, will rotate every 24 hours. These rotations will happen at 9 AM ET (1400 UTC), so players can sign in to Fortnite then to see what LTM is currently taking place.

Beyond the fortnight of Fortnite LTMs, the v7.10 update also sees some changes to the heavy assault rifle and the way balloons work. The contentious X-4 Stormwing fighter plane has also been nerfed, making the vehicle take more damage when crashing into or through objects. And ground vehicles have also been adjusted to slide appropriately on icy surfaces.

All things considered, this update should hopefully see some smoother gameplay in the future. Beyond the aforementioned items, Fortnite's v7.10 update also saw a number of quality of life improvements, with Epic Games managing to give the community what it has been clamoring for and then some. So, while waiting for the 14 days of Fortnite event to begin, players can also check out the upcoming leaked Season 7 Week 3 challenges here.
