As Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 begins to wrap up on June 7, fans have already begun speculating as to what Season 7 could bring them, and for the time being, it seems that nearly all signs point to aliens. Recent in-game challenges have had players interact with CB Radios and even repair telescopes all across Fortnite's map, and late last month, dataminers discovered hints of UFOs appearing in-game.

Just last night, fans began noticing the first official instances of what appear to be UFOs in Fortnite, as some players are being randomly abducted at Risky Reels. After a beam of light shoots down from the sky, players are transported to different locations on the map. Now, the first official teaser for Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7 has been released, and seems to hint at the theme of an alien invasion.

The Season 7 teaser is reportedly appearing as an advertisement on the social media app TikTok, however, the trailer has not be officially posted on any other social media channels. The very short teaser only displays the Fortnite logo along with the words "they're coming," and a June 8 launch date, all set to the mysterious purple glyphs, a strange blue beam, and what sound like muffled voices and electrical noises in the background.

Although the teaser hasn't officially appeared on social media channels, it can be seen in the form of a still image on the official Epic Games website, dispelling fans' suspicions of a hoax. The blue beam of light featured in the Chapter 2 Season 7 teaser looks nearly identical to the one now abducting players in the game. Previously, the phrase "they're coming" was featured on alien-esque promotional Season 7 teaser material that was sent out to some Fortnite players. And while purple glyphs have appeared multiple times in the game before, Fortnite news Twitter account FNAssist points out that these seem to be completely separate.

Fortnite has become somewhat notorious for the ways in which it teases fans about upcoming updates and in-game events, so fans are more than excited at the prospect of an alien invasion coming to the game soon. Recently-leaked documents show that a crossover bringing Metroid's Samus Aran in Fortnite was previously skipped for some reason, but an alien-themed season sounds just right for the character.

Regardless, fans are happy to have confirmation of a Chapter 2 Season 7 start date, as in the past, the end of one season hasn't necessarily marked the beginning of the next. While many have gotten accustomed to crafting Primal and Mechanical weapons in Season 6, it should be interesting to see what alien-themed weapons could come to the game in Season 7.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
