Another week means another set of challenges in Fortnite, and players have now reached the midway point with Season 6 with the Week 5 challenges. Of course, completing these challenges means players can also find this week's hidden battle star, which would put players one step closer to the coveted Werewolf-themed tier 100 skin.

Nevertheless, players should be prepared, as this week's challenges are going on at the same time as the Fortnitemares event. This means there is plenty going on the battle island, with Fortnite players attempting to complete these tasks while also hunting down Cube Monsters. Still, players should not forget about these tasks, which follow beginning with the free challenges for the week:

Free Challenges

Record a Speed of 27 or more on different Radar signs (0/5) (5 Battle Stars)

It is not uncommon for Fortnite to contain vehicle-related challenges, with the latest requiring players to be clocked at a certain speed. It's worth noting players should use the Quadcrusher vehicle, as the shopping Cart or ATK aren't likely to achieve the aforementioned speed. While doing so isn't particularly difficult, players will want to know where to find these radar signs.

Jump Through Flaming Hoops with a Shopping Cart or ATK (0/5) (5 Battle Stars)

Returning from previous seasons is the Flaming Hoops challenge. While the first free challenge gives attention to the newest vehicle, this challenges shows some traditional love to the Shopping Cart and the ATK. Like the previous challenge, this one is simple to do when players know where to find the flaming hoops.

Stage 1: Deal damage with Tactical Shotguns to opponents (0/200) (3 Battle Stars) HARD

  • Stage 2: Deal Damage with Pump Shotguns to opponents (0/200) HARD
  • Final Stage: Deal Damage with Heavy Shotguns to opponents (0/200) HARD

The free, staged challenge has players dealing damage with Tactical, Pump, and Heavy shotguns. Players will need to find one of the aforementioned weapons and deal a total of 200 damage with each. This is rather straightforward and should be achieved across a few matches.

Battle Pass Challenges

Eliminate an opponent closer than 5M away (5 Battle Stars)

While working on the free shotgun challenge, this elimination challenge should be achieved easily. Just make sure to eliminate an opponents during a close-quarters combat scenario, and this challenge will reward player with 5 battle stars.

Deal Damage with SMGs to opponents (0/500) (5 Battle Stars)

Stepping away from the shotguns, this challenge requires players to deal enough damage equal to five kills across various game modes. While simple enough, players will want to keep this in mind and be on the lookout for any type of SMG.

Eliminate an opponent with a Minigun (0/2) (10 Battle Stars) HARD

Once again, this challenge would work well in conjunction with the above elimination challenge. If players can get their hands on a Minigun and mow down enemies in close combat, then it will count toward progress for this challenge, as well as the above elimination challenge.

Stage 1: Deal damage with standard Pistols to opponents (0/200) (3 Battle Stars) HARD

  • Stage 2: Deal damage with Hand Cannons to opponents (0/200) HARD
  • Final Stage: Deal damage with Six Shooters to opponents (0/200) HARD

The staged Battle Pass challenge will require players to earn kills with the above pistols. As some may have noticed, the Six Shooter is a new addition to the battle royale game, so it's nice to see it featured in the challenges. Just be on the lookout for these weapons and deal as much damage as possible with them when on the proper stage.

Once all of these are complete, players can look forward to finding the week's hidden battle star. More than that, however, players may want to be working on the second set of challenges for the Fortnitemares event, in which we've also compiled a guide for the Ghost Decorations as well.

With all of these challenges in place, good luck on the battle island, Ranters!

Fortnite is out now in early access for iOS, Android, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
