Although they were revealed about a week ago in a massive leak that also uncovered week 3 and 4 challenges, the Fortnite season 6 week 2 challenges have been officially revealed. Sometimes, these leaks are inaccurate or are changed by launch, but that does not appear to be the case.

The free Fortnite challenges include:

  • Visit all of the Corrupted Areas (0/7)
  • Use a Shadow Stone in different matches (0/3)
  • Stage 1: Deal damage with standard Assault Rifles to opponents (0/200) - Hard

The Battle Pass challenges are as follows

  • Eliminate an opponent at least 50M away (0/1)
  • Deal damage with pistols to opponents (0/500)
  • SMG eliminations (0/3) - Hard
  • Stage 1: Deal damage with Hunting Rifles to opponents (0/200)

The two staged challenges may be what stands out among these challenges, as each may require a little time and dedication more than other challenges. After all, the first staged challenge with the Assault Rifle will seemingly rotate among standard weapons or higher-level Assault Rifles. This seems basic, but there is a lot on the line, especially if it rotates through standard weapons. The second staged challenge will seemingly rotate through sniper rifles, but that remains to be seen.

Luckily, while these challenges are more combat-oriented than standard challenges, the shadow stones are back to complete the free challenge - unless they happen to be pulled from the game again. Another thing to note is that while working on the staged, sniper-rifle based challenge, it shouldn't be a stretch to get the 50M elimination.

Regardless, many are likely to enjoy this straightforward approach to challenges, but for more casual players, these staged damage challenges could prove to be a death knell. Many are also likely to be happy to see the 'Search Between X, Y, and Z' challenges fading away, but some may also miss the simplicity of a challenge. Tell us, Ranters, if this pattern remains true, what do you think about this approach to Fortnite challenges?

Fortnite is available now in early access for iOS, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. An Android beta is currently underway.
