Following a series of peculiar events in both Fortnite and real life, Fortnite’s Season 5 is right around the corner. As with every Fortnite season, more cosmetics are on the way when Season 5 launches on July 12. Today it seems that the Xbox Dashboard dropped the ball and leaked some of the new skins coming with tomorrow’s update.
Three skins were shown off in the leak, which has since been taken off the Xbox Dashboard. One features the kitsune-inspired mask that was shown off in the first Season 5 teaser. The whole outfit fits the imagery of the Japanese kitsune theme. The next skin ties into the Nordic axe that was shown off earlier this week as part of the Season 5 countdown. The image showcases a barbarian-inspired woman with face paint and a Mohawk. The last skin looks like a continuation of the soldier-themed outfits.
Season 5 seems to revolve around the mysterious new tears in space and time that are causing random items and structures to appear on the Fortnite map. Earlier this week, animal skeletons appeared in Moisty Mire, while certain in-game items have made their way to the real world. Greasy Grove’s Durr Burger appeared in California, and loot llamas popped up all over Europe. Epic Games may even do more interesting real-world tie-ins after Season 5 kicks off, depending on what the update brings to the game.
Fortnite’s Season 5 is set to launch at 4 a.m. EST on July 12, and some considerable downtime is to be expected as Epic Games rolls out the update to bring all the new content to the game. This season is certainly shaping up to be an interesting one, and with all of time to work with, Epic Games has a lot of material to pull from for skin inspiration. Hopefully many other fancy skins will join the lineup alongside these three leaked skins.
Fortnite is available now for Nintendo Switch, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
