Fortnite's fourth season of Chapter 2 just concluded, and now the game is moving forward with Season 5. Following the finale of Fortnite's Galactus-themed event, the game will be receiving some new updates that include map changes.

In the aftermath of Fortnite's Nexus War, the center-point of the game's island has become a dreary wasteland called the "Zero Point," and is surging with energy that fuses realities together. This is the in-game reason behind the map changes in Season 5, which adds new areas such as the abandoned Stealthy Stronghold and Hunter's Haven. The season is also bringing back Tilted Towers, a map location familiar to players with a twist; now it's mixed with Salty Springs.

The blending of Fortnite's Tilted Towers and Salty Springs created the new Salty Towers, with characteristics of both as the towers lie over the sand. The area makes an appearance in the Fortnite Season 5 Battle Pass Trailer. It is intended to be a major drop spot for players, as it was with both Salty Springs and Tilted Towers and it's located near the island's central Zero Point.

On top of Salty Towers, there are four more major map changes in Fortnite's Season 5. The new Stealthy Stronghold evokes the first Jurassic Park film. It comes with a massive hexagonal wall and a gated entrance that surrounds land covered with trees, hiding its abandoned facilities. The Stronghold was added right above Pleasant Park. Hunter's Haven has two industrial buildings built into the side of a hill, with several interior rooms and wide platforms for players to take advantage of.

Hunter's Haven was added to the map right below the Zero Point and to the left of Lazy Lake. The new Colossal Coliseum is a Roman-styled arena for players to fight with classical weapons, chariots, and there's even a pair of towering, golden statues of Peely saluting players. It is located to the upper right above the Zero Point.

Then there's the Zero Point itself, which lies dead center of the Fortnite island map. This location is more desolate than the other areas, and has large, jagged purple crystals emerging from the ground. In the middle of the Zero Point is a mysterious orb levitating over the ground. Players will have to see if the orb has any other strange properties on the map.

There's several more places of interest: The fast-food restaurant Durrr Burger in Greasy Groves, the Weeping Woods, Slurpy Swamp, Holly Hedges, and more. Players can expect a number of locations to check out this month in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
