It won’t be long now until Fortnite fans are able to soak in all that the beginning of Season 5 will have to offer, as Epic Games is currently hard at work behind the scenes in preparation of the big update coming to the multiplayer sandbox survival shooter tomorrow. Naturally, the studio wants players to be as prepared as possible for the content drop, so Epic has decided to detail exactly when everyone should expect to encounter downtime ahead of Season 5’s launch.

According to Epic Games, Fortnite‘s Season 4 will officially conclude at 1:00 AM PST on July 12, 2018, which will then cause downtime for the title’s 5.0 patch to begin immediately thereafter. Once downtime goes into effect, the development team will then release patch notes that aim to provide details about the new additions and any other changes coming to the hybrid construction shooter.

For those who have lingered away from Fortnite shortly after Epic Games made its Battle Royale portion free, but are itching to jump back in once Season 5 begins, it’s important to know that updates between seasons typically can last for quite a while. As a matter of fact, the developer has even gone so far as to let players know that the patch size will be much larger than normal this time around.

With the ramp up to Fortnite‘s Season 5 almost concluded, it’s safe to say that Epic Games poured a lot of time and investment into promoting the mysterious content of the forthcoming event. After all, not only were there shared in-game moments like the missile launch setting the stage for next season, but also objects that crossed over into real life such as Loot Llamas appearing all over Europe. Of course, Fortnite fans can only hope that what’s to come in Season 5 will have been worth the wait.

Fortnite is available now for Nintendo Switch, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
