It has taken over a month for theories and speculation to build, but today Fortnite players will finally find out what Season 4 will bring. But while the game is still in its downtime and players are waiting for the servers to come back up, the Season 4 intro cinematic has leaked.

The cinematic (seen below) confirms that the meteors seen streaking across the sky in Fortnite (and eventually crashing down on the landscape) will change the map. How drastically they will change things is unclear, but the teaser suggests more than just Tilted Towers or Dusty Depot will be affected.

On top of that, the trailer gives players a closer look at the superhero skins that will be arriving with Season 4. All week Epic Games has been teasing a new theme for Season 4’s Battle Pass and now it appears we have a closer look at those new skins.

The cinematic was datamined out of the update files included with Fortnite's latest update. Since Epic Games broke with tradition and did not release any patch notes for fans to pour over, they decided to do a little digging through the game files and see if anything came up. Low and behold, this trailer and a few other tidbits were included.

With so much mystery surrounding Season 4, it's only appropriate that the intro cinematic offer an intriguing tease without fully revealing anything. The text suggests big changes are on the way, but the nature of those changes is unclear. A few weeks ago it seemed like Tilted Towers was going to be destroyed, then a new rumor cropped up that said Dusty Depot was the meteor's target, and then that same source claimed the map would be regularly changing as part of Season 4. Whatever the case may be, Fortnite players only need to wait a few more hours (hopefully less) to see what's coming.

Fortnite is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
