While Fortnite is currently in the middle of its Halloween event, Fortnitemares, this is only a temporary stopgap for the Marvel-themed Season 4, which has gradually seen more and more of Marvel's roster of superheroes and villains be added to the game.

The current season still has about a month to go until it concludes and while this doesn't mean that collaborations between Epic Games and Marvel will stop, with Epic's creative director Donald Mustard even saying that there are many years' worth of plans for Marvel integration, one has to wonder how the Marvel-themed season will ultimately end and what is to follow.

While there have been no specifics, Mustard has reportedly stated that the current season's main event is the biggest one ever and will change the very future of Fortnite itself. He apparently said this during a Zoom call with Game Awards host Geoff Keighley, which has been leaked by an anonymous source and shared with renowned Fortnite leaker FireMonkey.

Assuming this is accurate, it's not clear what Mustard is referring to when he calls it the "biggest." Does he mean in terms of size? In terms of scope? The obvious theory is that he's talking about the upcoming Nexus War event, which has been what the whole season has been hyping up since it started.

The event will finally bring devourer of worlds Galactus into the game, who has been gradually getting closer and closer to the map, with players now able to see him in the distance. It's likely that the event will involve players needing to fight Galactus and, considering he's sometimes depicted as being bigger than planets, a battle against him would be fitting for the biggest event ever.

However, it's hard to imagine how that could be pulled off if Galactus was capable of destroying the planet just by poking it. Galactus has demonstrated the ability to alter his size so it's feasible that he will appear on the map as a giant enemy, but that sounds too simple.

Is it possible that another major map change is in the cards? Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 10's main event, dubbed The End, saw the world sucked into a black hole, which destroyed and replaced the original map, so maybe Galactus' appearance will do something similar. It may seem bit early to make such a radical change, but something radical must be happening if Mustard is hyping it up like this.

While fans speculate, they may want to spend what's left of the Halloween event to track down and defeat Shadow Midas if they haven't already, though it's recommended players attempt it by working with a friend than try to take him on solo.

Fortnite is available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
