Fortnite dataminers this week have uncovered new changes in the game’s files that suggest that, in addition to character skins potentially signalling major storyline events, players could possibly be treated to a number of new items in the coming weeks.

According to Spedicey1 on Twitter, suspicious strings of code were found in the maintenance update Epic Games released for the game yesterday. Although these strings didn’t include any images to indicate what could be, Spedicey1 claims that each of the codenames in the strings corresponds to a new item.

These consist of a new rocket launcher, a new type of grenade known as a Tornado Grenade, an itemized version of Fortnite’s Upgrade Stations, a Clone Machine, and a Chug Stand. Beyond the names, however, Spedicey1 doesn’t offer any further details about what these items could bring to the game, or when they could be added.

It’s too soon to say for sure if there’s any substance to this claim, and even if the items are now in Fortnite’s code, it’s possible that Epic might decide against adding into the live game for players to use. Whatever the case, players are bound to receive new items of some type in the coming weeks, especially if the leaks about an upcoming doomsday event in Fortnite are legit.

Fortnite is free-to-play on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
