Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 is now live. Epic Games launched the latest season of Fornite, subtitled Top Secret, early Thursday morning. The new Fortnite season brings with it a range of new spy-themed content, as the island has been taken over by covert operatives. The biggest changes to the Fortnite map involve these agents of Ghost and Shadow's new secret bases. Fortnite players will be able to track down these new hideouts and discover their secrets for themselves.

These new hideout points of interests are exactly what spy movie fans would expect from villainous lairs. Five different notable locations have been discovered so far. There's always a chance that a hideout remains, well, hidden, but for now these are what Fortnite players are aware of.

The least secretive is called The Agency and serves as a headquarters, built near the center of the map. It has large flags waving from the tops of its various buildings and turrets, a dock, and looks prepared for any sort of offensive. The next is The Yacht. It's a straightforward fancy boat, but it's true that villains do love their yachts. The Rig is a giant oil rig, replete with a helicopter pad. Fourth is named The Grotto and is an underground facility. It even has a missile silo. Finally, there's The Shark, an island mansion with a large shark-shaped rock formation.

Throughout Season 2, players will likely be tasked with visiting these locations and performing assorted challenges involving them. It will be interesting to see what kind of hijinx Epic Games has planned for these points of interest. Hopefully, there are at least some sharks with lasers on their heads.

That the new Fortnite points of interest are mostly spread around the edge of the map rather than put where players are more likely to drop is an interesting choice. New map locations typically are placed somewhere they'll become a focus for players. Instead, visiting them is a somewhat risky venture. Perhaps there's more in store for these locations than meets the eye. For example, a nefarious flood could bring the map locations closer together.

Today marks just the start of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2. There are five new points of interests to explore and a ton of new spy-themed gameplay elements to get used to. As with every Fortnite season, expect Epic Games to tell a story week to week. The confrontation between covert agents is just beginning. Who knows where the story will lead Fortnite players next.

Fortnite is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, Xbox One, and mobile devices.
