As Fornite continues to be a global phenomenon, it is only natural that Saturday Night Live would eventually write something about it. This weekend, the late-night comedy show performed a sketch that pokes fun at the online shooter, as well as gaming itself.

Any gamer who has played online has joined a bad squad or two, and that's exactly what Saturday night's sketch centered around: two regular Fortnite players (Pete Davidson, Kyle Mooney) that join a squad with a clueless, single dad (Adam Driver).

In an effort to bond with his kid, who is a big fan of Fortnite, Driver's character decides to learn how to play the game, much to the frustration of the others in his squad who desperately try to coach him on how to play. Unfortunately, he just doesn't get it, and even simple actions, like picking up weapons, proves too difficult. Instead, he spends most of his time running into walls and other characters.

It's a very funny sketch, made all the better by actors portraying the characters in-game. Even gamers who don't play Fortnite can relate to the sketch, as we've all been in this kind of situation online before. SNL manages to capture gamers in a fairly accurate way, though the ending is a bit unrealistic. For example, after failing miserably as a squad, the other players agree to group with the oblivious Driver again and not a single expletive was exchanged.

In other Fortnite news, Sony has finally enabled cross-play on the PlayStation 4 in a limited capacity after receiving months of backlash, and Fortnite will be the first title to get it. Players can now take part in the cross-play open beta that allows gameplay, progression, and commerce across PlayStation 4, Android, iOS, the Switch, Xbox One, Windows, and Mac. Now that there are more options on how and where to play, the future looks bright for Fortnite players, no matter the platform.

As for what else is in the game's future, you don't need a crystal ball to see what's around the bend; there have been quite a few leaks doing that. Images of some of the season 6 cosmetics leaked a few days ago. Today, the season 6 week 2 and 3 challenges were leaked, followed shortly after by a leak of week 4 challenges. While this isn't uncommon for Fortnite, as season 5 saw a lot of its content revealed ahead of release, the sheer amount of leaks in such a short time is astounding. But players don't seem to mind, and it certainly won't hurt business for a game as big as Fortnite.

Fortnite is available now in early access for iOS, Android, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
