While the battle island of Fortnite is always changing, the latest addition to the available items is an interesting one for sure. As the giant rift closes over the island, many players wondered how this would affect the smaller rifts going forward, but it seems Epic Games has developed a workaround in the form of a new item, the Rift-To-Go.

Although there has been no word from Epic, it's likely the company is preparing material for season 6 of its popular battle royale game FortniteThis could potentially mean the disappearance of the rifts across the island for next season, but at the very least, this new item guarantees the action-packed season 5's legacy. The Rift-To-Go is described as "a rift you carry in your pocket! Teleport above your current location and glide down."

Some Fortnite fanatics seem concerned that this could break the game, while others see it as an easy way out for low-skill players. Others have likened it to the Port-a-Fort, which was also supposed to be game-breaking. The simple truth is we won't know until the game officially adds the item because we still know very little about how it works. Check it out below:

For example, does the created rift stay there a short period for other players to use, or can it only be used by the player that created it? Regardless, this latest item isn't the only addition to create some noise lately, as a recent datamine uncovered a potential Tomato Head event. This news follows an opening of a new rift in the location the mascot used to be and could potentially signal its return from the other side.

It'll be interesting to see the details of this new event and if the Rift-To-Go is in anyway related. If not, it's likely to be useful in current challenges and could even be featured in future season 5 challenges. Nevertheless, for those finishing up the week 6 challenges, here's where to find the hidden battle star.

Fortnite is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and iOS. An Android beta is currently taking place.
