Fortnite's Refer a Friend program is back in Chapter 3, allowing players the chance to earn several cosmetic items for free by completing challenges with friends. The program will be live until January 10, 2023, so players will have plenty of time to finish the tasks and unlock a new Spray, Pickaxe, Outfit, Back Bling, and Wrap.

To get started with the program, Fortnite players will need to sign up with their Epic Account on the Refer a Friend website. Players can invite up to five eligible friends to become 'referees.' The challenges for the program will need to be completed together before any cosmetics are unlocked.

Here are all the tasks players will have to complete to earn rewards:

  • Create a Connection - Add a Fortnite Friend (Unlocks Spray)
  • Play One Game in Fortnite with a Referee (Unlocks Wrap)
  • Place Top 10, 6 Times with Your Referee (Unlocks Back Bling)
  • Eliminate 45 Opponents with Your Referee (Pickaxe)
  • Gain Plus 60 Levels On Our Own and Wait for Your Referee to Gain 60 Levels Too (Both Xander Outfit styles)

No rewards will be given out until the referrer and the referee complete the challenge. And players should note that while referrers can participate with up to five different referees, each player can only earn the cosmetic rewards once.

And the Refer a Friend program isn't the only new thing happening in Fortnite. Epic Games has just dropped the v21.30 update for Battle Royale. The update brings the Prime Shotgun onto the map, which deals the most damage with the first shot of the clip.

The shotgun can be found on the ground, inside chests, in supply drops, in reality saplings, and through fishing.

The upcoming Summer Celebration for Fortnite is also bound to bring in some new surprises to the game, such as the Ice Cream Cone consumable that can heal players.

There are also huge rumors surrounding Dragon Ball Z characters finally coming to Fortnite as purchasable skins. According to reputable Fortnite leaker, HYPEX, Goku, Vegeta, and Beerus are confirmed for the rumored collab, as well as a fourth female character.

Fortnite is currently free-to-play for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
