Not too long ago, Epic Games and People Can Fly added a limited-time match style for the sandbox survival title Fortnite's Battle Royale mode dubbed "Sneaky Silencers," which pits players against one another to see who can take the crown with only the use of silenced weapons. Now, it looks as if the update has been a huge hit with the free-to-play mode's PS4 fans, with streams of the game on Sony's current generation console more than doubling those of Call of Duty: WW2 and Grand Theft Auto 5 combined.

As seen below in the screenshot courtesy of the Resetera user known as "v_iHuGi," Fortnite seems to be trouncing the competition in terms of PS4 livestreams, with the survival title racking up 5,582 streams over Grand Theft Auto 5 and Call of Duty: WW2's combined count of 2173 livestreams. It must be noted, though, that v_iHuGi's image was posted yesterday, so to see if the number of PS4 livestreams for Epic Games' title is still holding a significant lead, we found that as of writing, 4,623 Fortnite livestreams are occurring, while Call of Duty: WW2 and GTA 5 share 1784 total streams.

Interestingly enough, Fortnite is not only dominating the streams category on PS4, but also it looks to be leading the pack when it comes to add-ons. As it so happens, another Resetera user known as "Özgür" posted an image within the initial thread of the top add-ons for PS4 games, showing Fortnite's V-Bucks microtransactions holding down the top two spots ahead of Call of Duty and Rainbow Six Siege purchases.

From looking at the figures and information above, it certainly seems as if Fortnite has indeed "taken PSN by storm," as claimed by the original Resetera thread, and it could be due to the rise in popularity of Battle Royale-styled games. Speaking of the genre, Fortnite has been able to prove itself as be a major competitor to the likes of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds thanks to Epic Games continually updating the title with the addition of new and unique content to make it stand out in the crowd.

Fortnite is available now in early access on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with its full launch occurring at some point in 2018.
