Just last week, it was announced during the Nintendo Direct E3 2018 broadcast that Epic Games' Fortnite would be available on Switch on the very same day of the Big N's press conference at this year's expo. While Epic is undoubtedly glad to have the wildly popular multiplayer sandbox survival shooter on as many platforms as possible – an Android launch is coming this summer as well – it appears as if the title is going to be used as an incentive to sell PlayStation 4s, with product packaging for PS4 bundles with the game and exclusive items having recently leaked online.

As indicated in the image below, the official Italian page for Sony Interactive Entertainment's console confirmed that the Fortnite PlayStation 4 Bundle will come with the system, game, as well as an exclusive Royal Bomber skin and 500 V-Bucks. Apparently, the bundle is prepared to launch on July 16, 2018 the PlayStation 4, and will be sold for same price as a regular PS4 would be priced on its own.

Oddly enough, this leak comes at moment in which Sony is being criticized by many Fortnite fans for blocking players with PS4-linked Epic accounts from playing the hybrid construction shooter on the Nintendo Switch. Sony has since responded to the fracas begun by those who have been affected by the issue, but only to state what can essentially be described as the company doubling down on its business philosophy regarding exclusivity.

Following the backlash against Sony for the Fortnite crossplay controversy, Sony Online Entertainment Ex-CEO John Smedley explained that the whole reason the tech firm blocks PlayStation 4 crossplay with other platforms is due to money. Speaking of which, it will be interesting to see exactly how many PS4s the company can sell and how much additional revenue it can make with the forthcoming Fortnite PlayStation 4 bundles.

Fortnite is available now for Nintendo Switch, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
