Even though Fortnite is right on the cusp of its fifth anniversary, the battle royale title remains as popular as ever. This is because, in addition to its addictive gameplay, Fortnite is constantly releasing new updates to keep its content from getting too stale at any point. One of the newest pieces of content is the all-new Prime Shotgun, which players will learn where to find below.

The addition of the new Prime Shotgun to the island comes as part of Fortnite's v21.30 update. In addition to the new weapon, the latest update adds new Super Level Styles for the Chapter 3 Season 3 Battle Pass skins, save for Darth Vader. Players can now earn the Platinum Rift, Lapis Slurp, and Auric Blaze skins for Stormfarer, Adira, Evie, and Malik, though they may make for a more visible target for the Prime Shotgun.

How to Get Prime Shotgun in Fortnite

Fortnite's new Prime Shotgun joins an increasingly dynamic array of shotguns in the game, boasting some rather unique characteristics.

The biggest appeal of the new weapon is that its first round deals 1.5x damage, with the remaining three rounds in its clip dealing a consistent rate of damage. With a damage range of 76-96, keeping the Prime Shotgun, well, primed is a good idea.

Players can see if they're fully loaded by the ammo counter and the shotgun's light display. Prime Shotguns can be found on the ground, in Chests, Supply Drops, Reality Saplings, fishing, and sharks.

The Prime Shotgun is thankfully available everywhere and doesn't appear to have a finite window of availability, unlike Fortnite's last new weapon.

The divisive Ripsaw Launcher first came to the island a couple of weeks ago, which fires circular saws as a way to quickly tear down builds in a specific direction. Now available exclusively at The Chop Shop or Cuddle Cruisers landmarks, the weapon was spread island-wide during Ripsaw Launcher Week.

In addition to adding new weapons to the game this season, Fortnite is also unvaulting some old favorites. As part of Fortnite's previous v21.20 update, the Combat Assault Rifle has returned to the game.

The quick-firing AR with strong recoil was first added during Chapter 2, Season 8, and has been vaulted up until the update. Added to the game along with the new Charge SMG, both weapons and the Prime Shotgun can be found just about anywhere on the map.

With so many powerful short-range weapons currently in circulation, players may want to stock up on health-restoring items. Luckily, Fortnite's new Ice Cream Cones items do just that.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
