Fortnite fans have been expecting the newest crossover character to join for a while since it was initially teased. But as of today, the Predator, star of the movie franchise of the same name, is available to unlock as a skin in the game's Battle Pass.

For anyone who may be unfamiliar with the character, there is no singular Predator, as its entire species (the Yautja) are a race of honorable warriors that hunt other species for sport, which makes it a perfect fit for the bounty hunter theme this season of Fortnite is going for.

The Predator first appeared in the 1987 film, where it fought Arnold Schwarzenegger. Though it obviously served as the antagonist, Predators have also appeared in slightly more heroic roles, namely whenever they appear to fight the Xenomorphs from the Alien franchise.

The announcement trailer doesn't show much gameplay, only depicting the Predator removing its helmet and roaring into the sky. According to the official website, though, the Predator is a tad unique in terms of Fortnite lore. Unlike the likes of Darryl and Michonne from The Walking Dead, the Predator wasn't invited, instead following Jonesy into Fortnite's world searching for a worthy hunt.

By completing the Jungle Hunter quests, players will unlock not just the skin, but also a Bio-helmet Online Emote, a Heat Vision Hunter Spray, Banner, and Emoticon. Then players can live out their insane fantasies of having the Predator hunt down Iron Man, the Mandalorian, and Master Chief.

But now that it's here, fans are already wondering who will be joining next. One popular theory is that it will be Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider games, based on a recent datamine, though it's not a certainty. Other guesses from fans include Sarah Connor from Terminator, Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn, and Samus from Metroid.

Speaking of datamines, fans may already have an inkling of what to expect from Season 6. Even though Season 5 isn't expected to end until March, it's suspected that the next season will bring back some old vehicles and introduce weapon mods. However, it's entirely possible that plans will change over the next month or so, so these leaks shouldn't be taken as fact.

The Predator isn't the only new inclusion this week, though. Just yesterday, Epic Games announced that it was partnering with over 20 soccer clubs from around the world, meaning fans can dress up in their favorite club's kit and even play a game of soccer in Fortnite's creative mode.

Fortnite is available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
