Back in Season 7, Fortnite introduced Creative Mode, giving fans the tools to create their very own battle royale maps. As is often the case when games add robust creation tools, Fortnite fans ran off with it, creating a huge number of highly creative maps. But one of the most impressive maps we've seen so far is a recreation of the Kanto region from Pokemon Red, as created by Reddit user FiveWalnut8586.

FiveWalnut8586's Pokemon Red map is extremely impressive, offering a faithful recreation of the first part of the Kanto region as seen in Pokemon Red. The map, which took two months to put together, starts Fortnite players off in Pallet Town, where they select their "starter" from three different chests, and then travel through the Viridian Forest. From there, players can visit Pewter City, complete with a boss fight against Brock's Onix.

The Fortnite Pokemon map ends in Mt. Moon, which has been raided by Team Rocket. Since there are no actual Pokemon for Team Rocket to capture, they've instead filled the cave with caged llamas.

Since its launch, Fortnite's Creative Mode has resulted in a wide variety of interesting creations, ranging from large maps like this recreation of Pokemon Red, as well as smaller, more intimate locations. Some of the smaller fan-made maps have actually made it onto the Fortnite battle royale map proper, presented as part of The Block.

In the future, fans can expect Fortnite's Creative Mode tools to become more involved and refined. And as fans continue to practice with the tools, they should be able to put out increasingly impressive creations. Not all of them will be on the scale as this Pokemon Red recreation, but there are sure to be many more exciting fan-made battle royale maps for Fortnite in the future.

Fortnite is out now in early access for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
