When the Playground limited-time mode for Fortnite first launched, many players thoroughly enjoyed the addition to the battle royale and survival game. Although it was disabled soon after launch due to matchmaking issues, the Playground LTM has since gone live, and players have already shown off their creativity by making interesting recreations of beloved game maps such as Call of Duty's Nuketown.

For those who have played in the past few days, Fortnite recently added this LTM which allows players to practice their skills in a one-hour sandbox trial and create, play, and train. Moreover, it can be done with a squad of friends, though players should note that Friendly Fire is on. Notably, players will respawn upon death unless taken out by the storm, which doesn't start closing in until the last 5 minutes.

The quickly popular LTM also features 10x speed on resource gathering, 100 Llamas across the map, and 100% spawn on Chests & Ammo Boxes. For many reasons, it's understandable why this LTM is so popular, but according to the Fortnite Twitch Channel, this mode may eventually become permanent. Check out a screenshot below:

Although LTMs have returned in Fortnite featuring improvements on the various modes, this is the first mention of an LTM becoming permanent. The excitement behind this mode becoming permanent is akin to the hype of the dimension rifts appearing in the game, which may or may not result in another seasonal destruction of the map, with Tomato Town serving as a potential target.

Of course, time will only tell when Epic Games makes the Playground LTM permanent, but many may take comfort in knowing that the game developer is working on it. With there being a week until Season 5 of Fortnite starts, however, Epic definitely has its hands full preparing the game for the number of changes coming. Still, many may be hoping the Playground LTM becomes permanent sooner rather than later.

Fortnite is available now for Nintendo Switch, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
