It's not uncommon to find tweets in which those reading the post are asked for a retweet in order to reach a particular numerical goal, after which it is promised that some desire will be fulfilled. If it was more widely-known that these campaigns actually do sometimes work, then perhaps more students would begin attempting to get their teachers to change the subject content of their formal exams to revolve around playing a popular video game.

On Friday, a Twitter user by the name of Jilli Zuz took to the platform asking the community for some help, after posting a tweet in which it was suggested that she had struck a deal with her AP Chemistry teacher to change the contents of an upcoming exam to revolve around the popular battle royale title, Fortnite, if her tweet was able to reach a goal of 6,700 retweets. Despite the fact that no specific time limit for when the goal was meant to be met was provided, the tweet is currently nearing the 27,000-retweet mark.

Very little information regarding the bargain between the teacher and students is known. Although the tweet has more than surpassed the initial retweet goal, it is currently unknown as to whether Zuz’s AP Chemistry teacher will actually change the contents of the exam or how this change will be implemented.

It would be very interesting to see the contents of the exam paper in question. It is quite possible that the agreement between the teacher and students may see the examination paper consist of Fortnite-themed chemistry questions instead of being based on actually playing the game (even if it may be somewhat difficult to conceptualize how such questions would be created with a subject such as chemistry.)

Although it seems somewhat unlikely that the students would so easily be able to avoid being tested, perhaps the contents of the exam will really ask students to play Fortnite. No doubt that if this change were to take place, there probably would still be some students unhappy with the contents of the exam.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
