During the holiday season of 2018, Fortnite introduced planes to the battle royale. While some fans weren't happy with the Fortnite planes, feeling as though they upset the game's balance, others enjoyed the dynamic they added to the game, and were sad to see them go. Epic Games vaulted Fortnite's planes all the way back in Chapter 1 Season 8, but now it appears as though they may be making a comeback.

According to the latest Fortnite leak, planes will be coming back to the battle royale game. Whether or not they will be exactly like they were in their previous appearance or if there will be some changes remains to be seen. It's also possible that Epic Games won't necessarily bring Fortnite planes back, so fans should keep their expectations in check until an official announcement is made by the company.

Fortnite Season 5 is adding all sorts of new content to the game regularly, though most of it has been focused on other franchises. The theme for Fortnite Season 5 is "hunters," which Agent Jones recruiting all kinds of "hunters" from different fictional universes. Things started off with The Mandalorian from the Disney+ series of the same name, and then continued with Kratos from God of War, and then Master Chief from Halo.

Master Chief's debut in Fortnite came with more than just a skin and other cosmetic items, though. It also saw the famous Halo multiplayer map Blood Gulch added to Fortnite's Creative Mode. It will be interesting to see if other future Fortnite crossover events happening as part of Season 5 include some more substantial content updates like this or not.

Meanwhile, the next Fortnite crossover was confirmed at The Game Awards 2020. As it so happens, Fortnite is crossing over with AMC's The Walking Dead, with popular characters Daryl Dixon and Michonne making their way to the battle royale. As for potential future Fortnite crossover characters, rumors are swirling that Samus Aran from Metroid may be coming to Fortnite, as well as the Predator from the famous sci-fi horror series.

Hopefully Fortnite fans get official confirmation about this rumored content sooner rather than later. It would be nice to know if fans can expect these skins to come to the game so they can put aside some V-Bucks, and it would also be nice to know if the somewhat divisive planes are coming back to the battle royale map or not.

Fortnite is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
