Ever since Fortnite Battle Royale's introduction of the X-4 Stormwing fighter plane, players of the wildly popular multiplayer sandbox survival shooter have been clamoring for Epic Games to limit the vehicle's abilities in some way, shape, or form. Now, it looks as of those who believed the flying apparatus to be overpowered are getting their wish, as the developer's latest update for the free-to-play title has nerfed the X-4 Stormwing in more ways than one.

According to the patch notes for Fortnite Battle Royale's Content Update v7.10, the X-4 Stormwing fighter plane has had its stats adjusted so that the knockback a player receives after being hit by it has been decreased by 70%. What's more is that the damage done to the vehicle from colliding with structures has been increased by 50%, and impact damage reduction while boosting through structures has been reduced from 50% to 25%.

Additionally, Fortnite's latest patch has made it so that the X-4 Stormwing's spawn chances have been decreased from 100% to 80%, making it a little less likely that players will come across the vehicle. On top of these changes, the plane has also had its machine gun spread increased by 75%, and Epic has also used Update v7.10 to disallow the X-4 Stormwing to fly above the max build limit. Aside from alterations to the plane, Supply Drop health has also been reduced to 250/500/750 for Solo, Duos, and Squads, respectively.

All things considered, all of these changes will likely be welcomed with open arms by the myriad Fortnite fans who had been hounding Epic to nerf the X-4 Stormwing, as the fighter plane had been wreaking havoc ever since it was added to the title. What's more is that Update v7.10 has included the long-awaited Suppressed Sniper Rifle, which could wind up encountering its own nerf in the future should players find it to be too effective.

Fortnite is available now in early access for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
