As Fortnite Season 8 moves forward, new weekly challenges continue to give fans a reason to keep playing the battle royale game. On that note, the Week 5 challenges are now live, and they will have players engaged in a range of activities, including looking for the Fortnite bouncy ball and using a race track in Happy Hamlet.

One of the week's more straightforward challenges asks fans to eliminate opponents at pirate camps. While securing the kills may not prove problematic, some players may be wondering exactly where to find the pirate camps needed in order to fulfill the request.

Where to Find Pirate Camps

There are seven pirate camps to be found across the Fortnite map — they are designated by a flag featuring a white kraken and are made of wood. The pirate camp locations are as follows:

  • West of Lazy Lagoon
  • Southwest of the volcano
  • Southwest of Pleasant Park in an abandoned house
  • Northeast of the frozen lake in the Fortnite snow biome
  • Southwest of Salty Springs on a hill
  • South of Retail Row at the bridge that leads to the desert biome
  • Between Loot Lake and Dusty Divot in an abandoned house

To note, players only need to get three eliminations at a pirate camp in order to complete the challenge. Furthermore, these kills can all occur at the same camp and happen during a single match.

The Week 5 challenges come hot on the heels of a new Fortnite update, v8.20, which has proven to be quite controversial. While this patch has brought the Fortnite's Floor is Lava LTM to the game, as well as a new poison dart trap, gameplay alterations are what have been getting most of the attention.

Specifically, a number of changes that were implemented in Fortnite's v7.40 update have been reverted. Chief among these changes was the addition of a siphon that granted players health and shield for their eliminations. It seems that Epic believes that this siphon encouraged "an unhealthy level of aggressive play," and fans will need to reconsider their strategies now that it is gone.

Indeed, it will be interesting to see how players adapt to these changes. Perhaps these pirate camps will be the sites for many fans to sort out how to get eliminations as they work to acquire Fortnite skins.

Fortnite is available now in early access for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
