Epic Games has added a Pickle Rick back bling to Fortnite which is available for all players to unlock and may have implications for even more Rick and Morty cosmetics in the future. The Rick and Morty series first crossed over with Fortnite in Chapter 2 Season 7, and the free Pickle Rick back bling brings more cosmetics from the Adult Swim cartoon to Epic Games' battle royale. The latest Fortnite update introduced Pickle Rick to the game as a free cosmetics that players can unlock by completing Horde Rush quests in the limited-time game mode. Like with other seasons in the past, the return of Fortnitemares brought Horde Rush back to the rotation, which will remain an option until November 15 when it disappears for the year. Unlike the battle royale or other PvP-focused game modes, Horde Rush focuses on PvE mechanics from the Save the World client with a moving circle and a powerful boss spawning on the final wave.RELATED: Study Claims to Reveal the 10 States 'Most Obsessed' With FortniteFortnite players that complete eight of the Horde Rush challenges will unlock Pickle Rick for free, making it the only Rick and Morty freebie and one of few cosmetics based on existing IP given away for playing the game. The Fortnite Horde Rush challenges that players will have to complete include dealing melee damage to Cube spawners, eliminating the monsters that the pillars create, using sideways weapons, getting headshots, and more. Because these challenges are often completed just by playing a few rounds of Horde Rush, it may not take Fortnite players long to unlock the new Rick and Morty back bling to show it off with their friends in other game modes.

Given that Fortnite has made Rick Sanchez from Rick and Morty a level 100 battle pass skin in the past and other characters have been brought to the item shop since, this Pickle Rick back bling may point towards even more cosmetics based on the popular TV series. Because Epic Games didn't add Queen Summer and Mr. Meeseeks and their bundles long ago, Pickle Rick may have been carried over from getting cut out of a previous content drop or was nixed from the Chapter 2 Season 7 battle pass. It's currently unclear if Epic Games is making more Rick and Morty cosmetic content, but it may be suddenly added to the game like this Pickle Rick back bling or similar to the recent item shop drops.

While many Fortnite fans have expressed their enthusiasm for the free Pickle Rick back bling, others have stated that the character should get a full skin release in the future. Some fans utilized the Fortnite Twitter announcement of Pickle Rick to voice their frustrations with the Fortnitemares game mode and other aspects of the game that were altered in the new update.

Fortnite is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
