Without a doubt, Epic Games' reintroduction of Fortnite's popular 50v50 mode to the game's free-to-play Battle Royale portion was incredibly well-received by most fans, as it allowed them to join up with a large group of other players to take on what could be considered another huge squad of sorts. Taking this into consideration, the studio recently teased that it is presently deciding whether or not to permanently incorporate a mode like it into the game.

This much was revealed during a blog post written yesterday by Epic Games, with the Fortnite developer stating it is "currently evaluating keeping a larger squad mode live at all times for those who enjoy [50v50]". Unfortunately, though, the company failed to provide any additional details as to when such a feature would come about, if it would be an exact replica of the aforementioned LTM, or if it would be tweaked somewhat to make it more unique to 50v50.

For those unaware, Fortnite added its first iteration of 50v50 at the end of last year after it was revealed at The Game Awards 2017. It was initially promoted as a "Last Team Standing" mode, and its inclusion surely was a factor that helped propel the free-to-play Battle Royale portion to its current position as a pop culture phenomenon. Should Epic Games add a permanent variation of the LTM, then it will undeniably please those clamoring for more selections in modes.

While there's no telling when or if Epic Games will bring about the addition of a permanent "larger squad mode", the studio did recently give Fortnite fans the good news that it plans to add Playground LTM, which is a Limited Time Mode that will act as a stepping stone toward the incorporation of an enduring creative and practice mode. Once this mode is established, it will definitely provide players with the chance to hone their skills so as to be the best possible team member they can be if a lasting 50v50 mode comes to fruition.

Fortnite is availble now in early access for iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
