Not too long ago, Epic Games teased the addition of a new burst assault rifle to its wildly popular hybrid construction shooter Fortnite, but it looks as if fans will need to wait a little while longer until the weapon is actually added to the game. As it so happens, the developer recently took to the sandbox survival title's official subreddit to reveal that the update containing the firearm won't be available until tomorrow.

According to Epic Games' announcement, Fortnite fans should now expect to receive the contents of Patch v4.2 on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, with the studio's server maintenance downtime to apply the update set to occur at 4:00 AM ET. The developer also made sure to mention that it will officially publish the full patch notes tomorrow once the actual downtime begins.

This specific announcement related to Fortnite's Update 4.2 follows a similar declaration in which Epic Games stated that it would receive a delay due to the discovery of an unexpected issue that would require the company's attention. Up until now, though, the studio had yet to provide an actual time frame as to when fans should expect the patch to go live. This, of course, should sate those who were looking forward to wielding the new burst assault rifle today.

All things considered, while the addition of Fortnite's latest weapon has been pushed back, the free-to-play Battle Royale portion of the title still has plenty of fun on-hand, especially with Epic Games having recently implemented the return of the fan-favorite 50v50 mode. Naturally, the player base would have been even more content to have both the gun and the Limited Time Mode, but fortunately enough, the wait shouldn't last too much longer until they exist at the same time.

Fortnite is available now in early access for iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
