In the beginning of May, Fornite kicked off Season 4, which saw improvements to gameplay and user interface, as well as new weapons and items. The v4.1 update of the game on May 8th further introduced the extremely popular Infinity Gauntlet mode (complete with dancing Thanos), amongst other things. But the next Fortnite update, v4.2, which was scheduled for May 15th, has been delayed due to "an issue."

The Fortnite Twitter page indicates that not only will the release of v4.2 be delayed until further notice, but that due to this delay, some quests may also be out of function until the build releases. Epic also does not specify exactly what the "issue" is that is causing the update to be delayed. According to the tweet, Epic will update Fortnite fans as soon as it can give a more accurate time frame for the implementation of the next update.

In addition to this delay, Fortnite is currently experiencing various glitches that have fans upset, such as an issue with turbo building, which is a function that gives players the ability to continuously build structures without having to let go of the build button. Epic is no doubt making various efforts to address these types of issues in the game, but since these glitches were supposed to be fixed in the v4.2 update, the delay of the update is causing even more unhappiness among players.

There is no indication by Epic whether this delay will influence the start of Week 3 of Season 4 in Fortnite though, which is supposed to start today, May 15th. For now, fans can only hope that the problem that is causing the delay will be resolved very soon by Epic, and that we will be able to enter Week 3 of Season 4 in Fortnite without any glitches.

Fortnite is available now in early access for Mobile, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
