Epic Games is preparing to bring Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7 to a close and this includes some teasers about the upcoming Skyfire event. Operation Sky Fire takes place tomorrow, but Epic Games is still giving fans an idea of what to expect from the event.

Throughout Fortnite Season 7, aliens have invaded the battle royale island. This includes flying saucers that will abduct Fortnite players, floating alien creatures that can cling to the heads of characters to possess them and humanoid aliens that will fire at players with their rayguns upon observation. These aliens are coming down from the mothership floating above the Fortnite battle royale island, but this is about to change.

Epic Games has been teasing the destruction of the Fortnite mothership for a significant portion of Season 7. The mothership has taken liberties in destroying parts of the Fortnite map including Slurpy Swamp (now Sludgy Swamp), Coral Castle, and now Corny Crops (formerly Colossal Crops). As the mothership began destroying Corny Crops, the NPC located there known as Doctor Slone had a plan to destroy the mothership.

Operation Sky Fire seems to follow the success of Doctor Slone's plan to bomb the mothership floating about the Fortnite battle royale island. Corny Crops is completely shattered, with pieces of it floating in the air due to the destruction caused by the mothership. Doctor Slone has clad the bottom of these floating islands in bombs that are intended to destroy the mothership and bring it crashing down on the battle royale island.

This recent teaser from Epic Games gives Fortnite fans an idea of how Operation Sky Fire may transpire and it won't go according to plan. Currently, Doctor Slone is working with the heroes of Fortnite to stop the mothership from abducting the Zero Point which plays an integral role in many Fortnite seasons. The audio clip from Fortnite's Mari teases something on the Fortnite mothership that Doctor Slone hasn't accounted for that may be worse than the worst-case scenario.

In the Fortnite: Zero Point comics, Doctor Slone is working with notable bad guy Lex Luthor and this has caused some characters in the Fortnite universe to question her motives. This is teased further in the recent audio clip from Mari who doesn't trust Slone and states that she's relieved, yet scared. Mari implores Fortnite players to take care of themselves rather than relying on Doctor Slone with Operation Sky Fire on September 12.

It's currently unclear what Fortnite's Mari is warning players about in the recent teaser, but it seems like the mothership is harboring a hidden power. Fortnite fans have been anticipating this event since the mothership started abducting points of interest around the map and they're finally going to see the fruits of the mothership's labors on Sunday. Epic Games has not yet confirmed whether there would be downtime between seasons, but Fortnite fans might have to wait to see the beginning of Season 8.

Fortnite is available right now for Mac, mobile, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
