Fortnite has now entered the Esports world on a whole new level as it will now be a featured game in the sport shooting competition for the Olympic Esports Series 2023. Viewers and participants were baffled when Epic Games revealed the $10 million prize pool for the Fortnite Global Championship 2023.

The Olympics will be inaugurating the first Olympic Esports Series in June, and they have now announced that Fortnite will be making an appearance in this big event with a shooting competition. The virtual tournament will be held in a Fortnite Creative Island specifically designed for this purpose. This is an invitational event, and twelve players from the Fortnite Champion Series 2023 will be present to compete for the Olympic Esports trophy, but they will not be playing in their regular setting. It will not be a battle royale game, and the competitors will be target-aiming instead to show how accurate their shooting skills are.

Ten different Esports will be played during the Olympic Esports Week. Besides shooting, there will also be archery, baseball, chess, cycling, dance sport, motorsport, sailing, taekwondo, and tennis. Gamers will be able to see notorious games such as Just Dance and Gran Turismo 7 featured in the event between June 22 and June 25 - fans can keep up with the tournament by visiting the official Olympics website.

There is no doubt that Esports that getting bigger and bigger every single day. The fact that they are making a first appearance in the Olympics is a huge milestone for gaming. Fortnite has already added Chloe Kim to the game's skin pool as well as the Alpine Ace skins, so it is very likely that when the game makes an appearance in the Olympics, more themed skins will be released to celebrate this feat.
