Now that the newest season of Fortnite is here, there are plenty of new quests and activities for fans to earn rewards and level up quickly. One of the biggest changes made for the game is how the crafting system in Fortnite works, which has now gotten rid of Primal and Makeshift weapons in favor of a new crafting method.

Originally, gamers would use Mechanical Parts and Animal Bones to build powerful weapons and vaulted items, but these are now replaced with Nuts and Bolts to tie more into the theme for this season. These changes do make the system a little easier, but it can be somewhat confusing for people to figure out at first.

Additionally, these Nuts and Bolts parts are hidden in very specific locations across the map. So for Fortnite players looking to understand the crafting system better, here is where to find the parts and what to do with them.

How to Get Nuts and Bolts for Fortnite Season 7

The most reliable way to find these parts is in the red toolboxes rather than just being scoured across the map. Sadly, these toolboxes are incredibly rare to find, and fans only get one nut and bolt per box they find. However, gamers can also use the Recon Scanner to find these boxes much faster to make things easier. Other possible ways players can get Nuts and Bolts is by finding Rick Sanchez in Weeping Woods, finding floor loot spawns, shooting down UFOs, and defeating enemies that have them.

Once gathered, players can simply combine the Nuts and Bolts to any weapon to make an enhanced version of it. To start the process, open the inventory and go to the crafting section. From there, select the craftable weapon at the bottom of the tab, and the game will do the rest. In doing this, gamers can combine Nuts and Bolts with any Assault Rifle to make a Burst Assault Rifle. Additionally, gamers can use the Nuts and Bolts to turn Submachine Guns into a Rapid Fire SMG and a Shotgun into a Lever Action Shotgun.

From an official post on the Fortnite website, it seems that this is a permanent change to the game to getting rid of the makeshift weapons. If anything, there is still a chance that it will come back in the future in a different season, or if this new method works out better, then everyone can be happy. Hopefully, longtime fans are okay with this change in favor of a simplified process for this season.

Fortnite is available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
