This week saw the beginning of Fortnite Season 5, and with it the obvious introduction of new themes and content. New items added to the store this week include a new outfit as well as gear centered around a Norse theme.

Dubbed the “Magnus” outfit, the new Fortnite skin dresses the player’s character in stereotypical Viking fashion with features such as a horned-helmet, a strong beard and animal skin wrappings. Accompanying the new skin is a new harvesting tool known as the “Forbearer”. Sticking with the theme of the outfit, the Forbearer appears to be an ax worthy of any Viking warrior.

The Magnus outfit has been made a legendary item, meaning that players are able to purchase it for 2000 V-Bucks. With regards to the Forbearer, the new harvesting item has been categorized as a rare piece and is available for 800 V-Bucks. Other new items available for purchase in the store this week include the Arctic Assassin and Absolute Zero outfits, the Wiggle and Click emotes, the Stealth glider and the Pink Flamingo harvesting tool.

It is worth noting that the Magnus skin seems to be the third Viking-theme related skin included in Fortnite Season 5. Other such skins include the Legendary “Ragnarok” skin, which has been designated as this season’s Level 100 reward – and will be further customizable by reaching XP level caps thereafter – as well as the female version of the Viking skin, which has been set as a rare piece and is available for purchase at 1200 V-Bucks.

Fortnite Season 5 has seen a whole load of new interesting content added to the game that Battle Pass owners can look forward to unlocking over the course of the next two months. Much of the content has seemingly already been well-received with players even suggesting potential additions for the Ragnarok skin. It is safe to suggest that players are probably sure to see many enemies dressed in Viking-related attire over the coming months.

Fortnite is available now for Nintendo Switch, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
